DAY TRIP: FROM 9:00 AM TO 5:00 PM
The excursion begins at 9:00 AM when the agency picks up passengers at the hotel in 4×4’s.
The first stop is at the Winter Resort where they visit a Siberian Husky Kennel and learn about the activities they do in winter with the snow sleds.
Then, they begin to ascend over the Andes Mountain Range, reaching the Garibaldi Pass, the highest point of the crossing, where they can appreciate the “Lago Escondido” (Hidden Lake).
They descend along the old National Route 3 and enter the “Sendero de los Leñadores” (Woodcutters’ Trail). Here it is possible to appreciate the diversity of flora and fauna that the area offers.
The guides will lead you through hidden trails among Lenga, Coihue and Ñire forests, where it will be possible to see birds and red foxes.
You will continue through the beaver forest area where you will see the “dead standing trees”, here too, there is a descent into a beaver dam.
The final goal of the excursion is to reach the shore of Lake Fagnano where the agency’s cabins are located. The agency will offer you a complete lunch included, where you can taste a “picada criolla”, “bife de chorizo”, “choripán”, salads, Malbec wine and soft drinks.
While the guides prepare lunch, you can walk to the Palacios Lagoon, only 800 meters away. After lunch, passengers will enjoy some recreation time and will be able to enjoy alfajores, tea, coffee and mate cocido.
The return to the city is scheduled for 5 pm.
